"Jesus Wept." The shortest verse in the bible, but overflows with meaning.

There are 3 different times where it said Jesus wept:

John 11:35, Luke 19:41, and Hebrews 5:7-9.

John 11:32-36 says " When Mary reached the place where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet and said, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. “Where have you laid him?” he asked.“Come and see, Lord,” they replied. Jesus wept. Then the Jews said, “See how he loved him!”

"Jesus wept" means He had feelings. Emotions, Griefs, Sorrows, Pains and felt all the emotions just as we do today. Jesus wept FOR you and hates to see us sorrowful. He RELATES to our sorrows. He RELATES to our grief. He suffered loss, rejection, and mockery from the ones He loved. Does that sound familiar to you?

Our emotions are not meant to be stuffed and hidden where no one can see. Our emotions are the language that our hearts speak! These emotions need to be valued and seen, but not be entirely led by them blindly. A quote from Cageless Birds says" We can actually begin to listen to these emotions and let them lead us to Jesus. We dont blindly follow them, which was the caution we were hearing in church: Dont be led by your emotions. But we are meant to listen to them, and let them become a meeting place with God."

BRING GOD INTO YOUR EMOTIONS. Why? Because He knows them alot more than you think He does. Can you imagine how good and light we would all feel if we just let the Lord into our emotions and not be scared to let them out? Leaving everything out on the table for naked vulnerability? Letting Him take the lead and trusting not in our own understanding, but His? If we practice letting God lead us through our emotions and feelings, then I believe it begins a healing journey that the Lord wants to prune in your life.
