The Vision and Story behind Alabaster Art
It all started with a painting...then God spoke.
Before stepping into this journey, I was a full time Cosmetologist and loved every second of it. In the beginning of summer, I was getting a sense that change was coming around the corner, and I was right. Fast forward to painting in my kitchen one morning and worshiping the Lord at the same time, something hit different. A sense of longing to keep going. A sense of wanting to do this forever. After finishing my piece, I clearly heard "This is what you're suppose to be doing. This is what I created you for." The Lord was clearly shifting my heart at the idea of selling my artwork and using my gift for His glory. To share the Gospel through my paintings.
I definitely wrestled with the fact of quitting my job because I didn't want to, but obeying the Lords command was more important than how I felt. Feeling like a teeter totter of emotions, the Lord gave me peace throughout the process and He stayed true to His promise. That's when Alabaster Art was created!
Alabaster Art is a Jesus centered, worship art platform that will spread the gospel one canvas at a time. Why an alabaster jar you might ask? The alabaster jar shows up multiple times throughout scripture, and showed up multiple times throughout my life. Back in those days, they would keep oil, perfume, water, whatever that was valuable to them in alabaster jars and when Jesus came around, they took whatever was in their alabaster jar and poured every last drop on Jesus. It is a symbol of most high worship and high praise. Pouring out all that we have and giving Jesus everything we are, even though we have nothing to give. As the Lord has been anointing me throughout this journey, I tend to anoint Him right back with the gift that He gave me. My art will have worship poured out on every single piece that you buy.
I pray that when you look at my work, you will feel the presence of the Lord around you. I pray that when my work hangs in your home, that it will fill the room with true joy, peace, healing, comfort, and Love.
Amen.
