In Matthew 7:13-14, It talks about “The Narrow and Wide Gates”: Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
There are two paths. One road is wide and easy. The road that’s easy to spot, easy to walk through, easy to find, packing on things we think we need, but always leads to destruction and dissatisfaction. Then there is the narrow path. The narrow road, where it’s difficult to find, hard to walk through, can be unsteady and requires faith that it will lead you somewhere…and it does.
The narrow road leads to Jesus. The narrow road leads to life! It’s a challenge to live intentionally and choose His will over yours, even when it’s unpopular or hard.
When we take the narrow path:
We can't take our money
We can't take our things
We can’t take our cars
We can’t take our families
We can't take our jobs
We can't take our responsibilities
We can’t take our desires
We can’t take our sin
We can't take our shame
We can't take our guilt
We can’t take our wants
We can’t take our expectations
We can’t take our past traumas
Why? BECAUSE GOD IS GOOD! All He wants when we walk that narrow way is to trust Him, look at Him, be in constant communion with Him, have faith, be bold, and walk in obedience and life just as He created and intended it to be. All He wants is your heart.
Will you be one of the few that find the narrow way? Take the challenge. Walk it.
